The experience of running this campaign has been many things. At times, especially early-on it was depressing. We definitely thought about cancelling it in the first few days because it started off slow. Then there were moments of excitement where it seemed like it might be possible. We were never sure until we actually crossed the finish line of course. To that extent the campaign has been humbling.
To know that all the work we’ve put in over the last 2 years (and even 5 years) hasn’t gone unnoticed is amazing. The fact that Swap Fire is still in its infancy and we have this level of support (in just two-weeks) is awesome. We are going to make a great game in Swap Fire 2 (we’re going to have to discuss that Season thing after some of the confusion during this campaign). We will stay focused on making sure the fun parts of Swap Fire remain wholly in-tact while we remove the rough edges, furnish it with beautiful art, and bring it online with a system that fosters community activities and engagement.
Thank you so much for being a part of this endeavor! YOU just made this real and it’s going to be awesome. You are part of the Swap Fire team.
Now, the core team here in Norfolk, VA has some more work to do to build off this momentum and put all the pieces together for the delivery of Swap Fire 2 next year. We will be in touch and we will be leaning on this community to make sure this ship stays on course. Great games are the result of great people collaborating and everyone that contributed to this Kickstarter is a great collaborator!
