The Changeover starring Timothy Spall

The Changeover: Timothy Spall stars in this supernatural thriller

We love British actor Timothy Spall. He’s one of those on-screen presences that can be regal (Mr. Turner), endearingly slovenly (Still Crazy), sinister (Wakewood) and charmingly odd ( the Harry Potter films). He’s got a vibe that’s all his own. Today, coming out of the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, we got our first look at Spall’s latest movie – a horror movie, in fact – called The Changeover, co-starring Melanie Lynskey (I Don’t Feel at Home in this World Anymore, Up in the Air, The Perks of Being a Wallflower), Lucy Lawless (Parks and Recreation, Battlestar Galactica, Xena: Warrior Princess),Nicholas Galitzine (Handsome Devil, High Strung) and  Erana James. The film is directed by Miranda Harcourt and Stuart McKenzie and produced by Emma Slade (Funny Games).
The Changeover Synopsis: Based on Margaret Mahy’s best-selling, Carnegie Award-winning novel from New Zealand.  When a sinister visitor arrives in her town, sixteen-year-old Laura Chant discovers awesome new powers within herself that she must harness in order to rescue her younger brother from the man’s evil plans.
Radiant Films International is handling foreign sales at Cannes for the film and will be debuting new footage to potential buyers. More on The Changeover as we get it. Now, have a look at this new shot of Spall behaving (presumably) badly.
